IS IT NORMAL FOR ATHLETES TO HAVE A PULSE OF 40?
Pulse is the number of beats of the heart in 1 minute. 60 to 100 beats / min. While it is considered normal, bradycardia under 60 is called as tachycardia over 100. However, resting heart rate is lower in athletes. However, the beat volume is higher. Slow heart rate and large pulse volume indicate the efficiency of the circulatory system. So bradycardia seen in these athletes is not abnormal.
